Customer Service Representative / Fleet Manager

San Bernardino, CA

 

GENERAL SCOPE OF JOB:

Management of specific customer(s) or base of customers within a region through daily communication and solicitation to generate freight and future business.  Maintain a clear understanding of the customers changing industry and business needs to meet or exceed their service expectations.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop and maintain a professional working partnership with assigned customers and maintain a clear understanding of the customers changing industry and business needs.

 

Maintain daily contact with customers to determine both short and long term needs. 

 

Solicit customer base, booking freight to maximize equipment utilization and participating in lanes of interest.

 

Monitor and manage commitments ensuring on time percentages are met, volume commitments are satisfied, and proactive communication is achieved with potential service situations.

 

Ability to maintain in a timely manner, accurate records both manually and by using a computer.

 

Maintain customer profiles assuring information in the computer is accurate and current.

 

Participate in Customer Service and Sales meetings.

 

Demonstrates above average organizational skills to effectively handle multiple priorities with short deadlines.

 

Regular and consistent attendance during assigned work hours is required.

 

Ability to assume the duties of Fleet Manager ensuring driver(s) is dispatched and daily Fleet Manager responsibilities are completed.

 

Ability to travel to off site locations meeting with customers.

 QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Minimum of one year experience as a CSR/Fleet Manager in the transportation industry. 

 

Solid understanding and knowledge of computers. 

 

Above average telephone, customer service and communication skills. 

 

Strong organizational and analytical skills. 

 

Ability to work in a fast paced, high stress environment handling multiple tasks. 

 

Ability to work independently in a team environment displaying a positive professional attitude with customers

and fellow employees.
