DISPATCHER- Freight Forwarding

Job Purpose:

Delivers merchandise to customers by verifying orders, inventorying stock, and arranging transportation.



Duties:

* Verifies and sorts orders by editing for price, promotional problems, weight compliance; categorizing orders.



* Arranges shipments by checking stock to determine inventory levels; anticipating requirements; placing and expediting orders.



* Ships merchandise by examining merchandise, destination, route, rate, delivery time; dispatches to carriers.



* Verifies merchandise shipped by matching bills of lading; reconciling quantities; noting discrepancies.



* Keeps customers informed by forwarding notice of stock availability, shipment date and method, and current status; answering questions.



* Replaces damaged merchandise, shortages, and misshipments by determining optimal response of replacement or credit.



* Protects organization's reputation by keeping pricing, promotion, purchase order, and credit limit information confidential.



* Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.



* Accomplishes distribution and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
