Dedicated Operations Fleet Manager

Dynamex, Inc., a leading provider of same-day delivery and logistics services in the United States and Canada, is searching for an experienced, highly organized individual to join our team as a Dedicated Fleet Manager.  The ideal candidate must have the ability to manage the daily direction of the dedicated fleet operation[s] to ensure profitability, productivity, strong customer relations and the achievement of targeted performance standards through the effective management of owner operators and employees and the application of relevant technologies, standard operating procedures and accepted business practices. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage the operations of the Dedicated Fleet services through the direction of owner operators and employees.Ensures exceptional customer service is achieved by exceeding service targets and key performance indicators in respect of all dedicated requirements.Maintains positive employee, agent and IC relationships. Monitors revenue and cost levels to ensure efficiency, profitability, and institutes policies and procedures to correct inadequacies.Schedules operations staff and Owner operator?s 24hrs/365 days for most efficient use of personnel to match activity levels.  This includes ensuring suitable coverage in the event of absenteeism via external or internal methods/means.Trains, coaches and develops warehouse staff, Owner Operators and all other dedicated employees. Recommends/implements appropriate corrective action as required.Monitors IC pay levels, efficiencies, and performance on a daily basis in order to ensure error-free performance in liaison with the Driver Services Department.Visits Customer sites (with preset minimums) as required and maintains client log detailing particulars of visit or meeting.  Implements a performance tracking tool generated in liaison with the clients key service criteria.

?  Promotes new business and is involved with the costing process.

?  Assists in ongoing recruitment and compilation of competitive analysis.Visitation with Sales Department as and when required. Instrumental in start up of any new dedicated business/accounts.Informs immediate supervisor of daily activity and/or any issues/concerns.Maintains agent/vendor agreements, and maintains database with our Administration Department.Ensures adherence to procedural and policy requirements of various government bodies and Dynamex Canada Inc. Authorizes payment of invoices related to this department.Conducts Route Audits/Analyses (pre-set minimum).Performs other duties as required/assigned by immediate supervisor.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:

 

?  High degree self-discipline.

?  Minimum 2 years college preferably in related field.

?  Minimum 2 years experience in operations, in a Supervisory or Management capacity.

?  Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills.

?  Good organizational skills.

?  Some travel required.
