Delivery Manager - Local Distribution

PETRO, the largest Home Heating Oil Service and Delivery Company in the United States, is seeking a Delivery Manager to join our team in Baltimore. The territory includes Baltimore, DC, and Arlington, VA areas.





 

Summary: Direct and coordinate all district delivery and fleet activities and provide leadership for all Delivery and Fleet employees. Direct and coordinate all oil delivery dispatch activities and provide leadership for all Oil Dispatchers and dispatch support personnel.

 

Responsibilities include the following:

 
Plan workloads and schedules for Delivery Drivers and Dispatchers based on forecasting information
Provide budget parameters
Monitor delivery revenues and expenses of district delivery budgets to ensure meeting budget objectives
Interview and select staff of Delivery and Fleet departments
Coordinate and direct the activities of delivery supervisors ensuring individual and team goals are met
Resolve personnel issues as required
Conduct safety and performance ride-a-longs
Conduct annual safety incident review with each driver and attend monthly district safety meetings
Comply with all company Hazmat, DOT and other regulatory guidelines within the district
Monitor and achieve production objectives
Resolve customer delivery issues
Build and maintain a work environment characterized by high expectations, motivation, accountability, communications and teamwork

 

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five years delivery related experience is required.

 

Applicants must have a valid Class A or B Commercial Drivers License, with tank and hazardous material endorsements, and be able to meet company's Motor Vehicle Record evaluation to be considered for this position.
