Diesel Locomotive Electrician

Description:
Locomotive Electrician work consisting of wiring, maintaining, repairing, rebuilding, inspecting and installing of all generators, switchboards, meters, motors and controls, rheostats and controls, static and rotary transformers, motor generators, electric headlights, and headlight generators, electric welding machines, storage batteries, axle lighting equipment, electrical clocks and electric lighting fixtures, winding armatures, fields, magnet coils, rotors, transformers and starting compensators. Inside and outside wiring at shops, buildings, and yards and on structures, and all conduit work in connection therewith, including diesel electric locomotives, passenger trains, motor cars, electric work on tractors and trucks.

Pay Rate: $21.71/hr Full rate - $19.54/hr Entry Rate

Qualifications:
4 YEARS ELECTRICAL EXPERIENCE (Diesel preferred) AND/OR TRAINING required. H.S. diploma or equivalent required. Must pass a basic reading comprehension and mathematics test. All applicants are required to pass both tests prior to receiving further consideration. Valid driver's license is required. Successful applicants will be required to pass a FRA approved drug test, strength test, and a post-offer medical examination by a CSX company contracted physician.
