We are currently recruiting for the following position:

 

Title: Assistant Distribution Center Manager

Reports to:Distribution Center Manager

Location: Fairfield

Salary: DOE

Status:  Exempt

Shift:This position works varying shifts and includes a varying work week schedule & requires weekends.

 

Responsibilities:

 

This position has the primary responsibility of administering personnel actions, periodic performance appraisals, promotions, hiring of new personnel, and the development and implementation of the Distribution Center training program.  Position will act as a backup to the Assistant Distribution Center Manager for Operations. Responsibilities include:  maintaining the 24/7 schedule and making shift changes as necessary; assisting the Distribution Center Manager with strategic planning to meet customer expectations for accuracy and timely order delivery; maintain, service and inventory Material Handling Equipment;  ensure safety compliance and training of the Distribution Center team.  Responsible for ensuring that Facilities completes any required repairs.  Perform all other related duties as directed by the Distribution Center Manager.

 

Requirements:

 

Requires a bachelor degree or equivalent experience in Industrial Technology, Logistics or related field.

Requires 5 ? 7 years of supervision experience in a warehouse environment.  Previous experience working with personnel issues required. Requires 1 ? 2 years of experience in inventory management.  Must be computer literate.  Knowledge of MS Office required.  Knowledge of JDEdwards highly desired.  Must be able to manage, supervise, and motivate all employees of the Distribution Center.  Must be able to be patient and listen to issues/concerns of the team.  Must be detail oriented and be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.  Must possess decision-making and organizational skills.  Must possess strong English verbal and written communications.  Must be able to interface with all levels of Meyer employees.  Must possess mental and physical capabilities necessary to perform the job duties.  Must be forklift certified and possess a valid California driver?s license.
