Dispatcher/Driver Manager

Purpose of Position:To safely plan, organize, schedule and insure the timely delivery of the company?s freight in a defined geographic territory through successful interaction with customer service and drivers.

 Qualifications: Qualifications At least 1 to 2 years of related experience with a full truckload transportation provider.

 

? Prefer 2+ years of successful driver dispatch experience or 4 years of progressively responsible work experience.

 

? Prefer related experience in a fast-growing entrepreneurial company.

 

? Track record of learning new computer systems and producing data that was successful in the improvement of company performance and profitability.

 Principal Accountabilities

 Principle Accountabilities:

 

? Schedule the day-to-day movement of freight through interaction with drivers and customer service.

 

? Analyze and determine which loads maximize profitability while providing driver associates an opportunity to meet mileage/load goals in a safe work environment.

 

? Provides accurate and detailed information regarding directions, load information, pick-up/delivery times and other special load related information.

 

? Meet service and delivery goals in order to produce raving fan customers.

 

? Manage driver home time and serve as liaison between driver and his/her family.

 

? Responsible for the general welfare of a driver while he/she is over the road.

 

? Accurately inputs load and driver related information into the company?s logistics/planning system.

 

? Accountable for enhancing driver satisfaction and retention through a professional dispatch partnership.

 

? Perform other duties as assigned by this positions supervisor.
