Job Description:

 

In order to help facilitate our continued growth, Mosaic Tile Company is looking for an experienced professional to fill a newly created Distribution Center Operations Manager position, located in Fredericksburg, Virginia.  At the present time, we are constructing a 75,000 foot facility that will take the place of our existing 31,000 foot warehouse.  Construction of the new facility will be completed in October 2006.  The Distribution Center Operations Manager position involves a variety of functions including, but not limited to the following:

 Responsible for all facets of the operation of our 75,000 square foot Central Warehouse. Supplying product to each of our 9 Branch locations throughout Virginia, Maryland, and North Carolina on a nightly basis. Facilitating the direct delivery of customer material from the Central Warehouse on a nightly basis. Container and truckload receiving, verification, and put-away. Leading a team of up to 10 warehouse and management employees and 5 truck drivers in a fast-paced environment. Responsible for coordinating the move from our existing facility to the new warehouse in November/December 2006. Responsible for the implementation of a WMS in the new facility in early 2007. Tracking productivity of all warehouse teams and implementing strategies for continued improvement. Providing training, administering discipline, and evaluating all warehouse and management employees. Acting as the safety officer for all Central Warehouse operations. Responsible for the security and integrity of product and cycle count transactions. Using the existing Inventory Management System Software to perform all inventory and warehouse functions including shipping, receiving, and invoicing. Responsible for fleet and equipment maintenance and safety operations. Creating spreadsheets/logs to track daily and monthly shipping and receiving activity.  Responsible for end of day reconciliation procedures and report completion. Determining routing and transportation methods by appraising current freight rates and analyzing all modes of transportation.

 

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Competency Requirements:

Interested candidates should posess the following skills and competencies:

 Excellent communication skills (written and verbal). Solid organizational and time management skills. Attention to detail and a disciplined approach to work activities. Self-directed, highly motivated, with a Customer Service-Oriented attitude. A demonstrated track record of management and leadership experience. Experience working in a team-oriented environment. Strong reasoning, analytical, problem solving, and follow up skills. Ability to develop strong relationships with both internal and external customers. Must possess a strong working knowledge of distribution center management principles, including scheduling, budgeting, and inventory control. A demonstrated ability in coaching, counseling, leadership and people management skills. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Microsoft Office competency (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point). Prior experience with implementation of wireless Warehouse Management Systems. Bachelors degree preferred. Minimum of 5-10 years of similar distribution supervisory experience.
