Distribution Center Supervisor-Outbound (Floating)

The DC Supervisor   oversees staff of Lead associates, DC associates and Temporary associates and ensures accurate, efficient and timely distribution of store merchandise including packing, validating recording and shipping of goods. 

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Ensures department and company goals are achieved and that quality and accuracy standards are maintained.

- Ensures department shrink and payroll are in line with established guidelines.

- Utilizes resources in order to track productivity.

- Understands, complies and educates team on company policies including safety, cleanliness, LP and code of ethics.

- Ensures department is properly staffed.

- Maintains presence on floor in order to provide regular follow up on employee performance.

- Provides clear and effective communication to employees.

- Motivates team to ensure established goals are achieved.

- Maintains positive morale within department and creates environment which fosters success.

- Completes performance appraisals for team.

- Coordinates cross-training opportunities.

- Consistently meets commitments made to business partners.

- Other duties as assigned to met business needs.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Experience & Education

- Minimum 3-5 years of retail distribution management experience of a staff of 20 or more

- Minimum of high school graduate or GED equivalent. College degree a plus 

  -Experience using recent WMS and RF warehouse applications, Manhattan and Associates PKMS and/or open systems WMS preferred

Physical Requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation)

- Able to stand and walk around during scheduled hours

- Able to pack and unpack shipments, arrange and move store fixtures and move packages weighing up to 50 pounds

- Able to use Distribution Center equipment including sensors, cutters, scissors, hand truck, etc

Able to remain calm and focused under pressure
