Distribution Supervisor

Job Description: GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB: Directs, supervises and coordinates warehousing and materials personnel to include kitting, shipping, receiving and distribution.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES TYPICAL FOR MOST POSITIONS:
1.Maintains an adequate and efficient workforce to ensure proper staffing to select and receive products at the facility in a productive and cost-efficient manner.
2.Directs the daily activities of the distribution function. Such activities include shipping, receiving, inventory control, etc.
3.Generates warehouse productivity reports, in regard to selection rates, receiving rates, and accounts for all labor hours, both direct and indirect. Adheres to budget requirements and works toward obtaining objectives and goals.
4.Responsible for the maintenance of warehouse
equipment, providing both preventive maintenance programs and all necessary repairs.
5.Administer warehouse safety programs in order to provide a safe and clean workplace for employees and within the regulations of all OSHA local and state regulations.
6.Coordinate personnel requirements for periodic physical inventories.
7.Maintains accurate material availability to meet production schedules and/or ensure products are shipped per customer requirements.
8.Ensures materials are received from proper vendors, delivered to inventory and finished goods, and packaged according to specification.

Education / Experience
Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Typically requires demonstrated leadership skills and 3-5 years of distribution, warehousing or equivalent experience.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
To perform the major job responsibilities the use of the following tools may be required: Inspection: components, measuring tools; Office Skills: telephones, data entry, office software to include, word processing, spread sheet, and presentation package; Warehouse: forklift, electronic scales, pallet jack, staple gun, cycle counting, kitting.
