Domestic Transportation Supervisor - Entry Level

The Domestic Transportation Supervisor oversees the daily transportation activities for the US distribution of goods to Dole Packaged foods customers. This position will manage and maintain the flow of product to U.S. customers from Dole Packaged Foods 3rd party suppliers ensuring economical shipments of goods, as well as, effective interface with C.H. Robinson (TMC), 3rd party warehouse locations and Westlake Sales Support.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Monitor the accuracy, cost and timeliness of selected Customer shipments. Insure that the TMC operation is performing as prescribed by Dole Packaged Foods.

Work with Sales support staff as needed to get customers serviced as necessary.

Develop audit reports and measurements to insure all carriers perform to specifications.

Hold meetings and training secessions with functional Dole entities to insure that all associates are up to speed with Domestic Transportation day to day accomplishments.

Prepare operating budgets and financial information as required

Work with International Transportation to insure proper flow through of inbound and outbound product.

Maintain carrier routing guides to insure accuracy and proper update of the accrual process.

Negotiate and establish functional transportation rates with carriers by lane.

Experience:

One to three years in the transportation environment working on a shipper, carrier level, or equivalent education.

Some working knowledge of freight selection and high volume transportation movement.

Advanced skills in current PC computer software applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).

Excellent written and oral communications skills as well as proven negotiations experience.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Supply Chain movement of goods.

On the job training in high volume carrier movement.

Maintain domestic Shipping and accessorial within budget
Further develop relationships with Sales Support and the TMC group to insure achievement of the total goal.
Maintain routing guide
Maintain Contracts and insurance on all Dole Packaged Foods carries.
