Export Administrator

Purpose/Description:

This position is responsible for assuring that the Company is in compliance with the export laws and regulations of the United States.

 

Essential Functions/Core Responsibilities:

?  Administers export policies for the Company in conjunction with Senior Export Administrator

?  Researches and stays current on export laws and regulations

?  Ensures compliance with all export laws and regulations of the U.S.

?  Conducts audits of Company compliance with export processes

?  Determines and assists Senior Export Administrator in determining whether export licenses are required and whether exceptions are available

?  Prepares export license applications

?  Liaisons with government officials on export matters at direction of Senior Export Administrator and General Counsel

?  Conducts training seminars on export laws and regulations

?  Use product descriptions and technical data to determine the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) codes and Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCN) for products and services

?  Update VAS compliance and order processing systems with trades codes (HTS, ECCN, etc.)

?  Procure data needed from suppliers, customers, and manufacturers to determine the Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) and Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS)

?  Review and stamp pick slips/parts prior to shipment to ensure export compliance

?  Assist Senior Export Administrator as needed

?  Perform all other duties as assigned

Minimum Education and Experience:

?  1 year experience in Export Administration Regulations, including classification determinations (preferably for aircraft parts and aircraft engine parts)

?  2-year college graduate or equivalent experience in logistics, traffic or freight forwarding

?  Strong communication and interpersonal skills

?  Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Exchange

?  Proficiency in running queries and reports in SAP a plus, but not required

?  Additional knowledge of aircraft parts is essential
