Fleet Mechanic

We currently have an immediate opening for a Fleet Mechanic in Olathe, KS.


 



This position performs all mechanical duties (including preventive maintenance, road calls, and major overhauls) on trucks, forklifts, trailers, scrubbers and support vehicles on 2nd Shift. Maintain and repair all fleet assets. Works with a high degree of independence. Performs duties using his/her own full set of tools. Complete related paperwork and all other duties as assigned.





PRIMARY JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Diagnose failures of vehicles and disassemble, repair and reassemble parts as necessary
Perform preventative maintenance on vehicles
Answer road calls
Maintain vehicle records as required
Maintain and repair fleet equipment
Fill out all necessary documents
Maintain records-daily checklist (pre-trip inspections)


JOB ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
Must be at least 21 years of age
Will be able to obtain within 3 months a State Inspector's License and a Class A CDL license, with all endorsements
Must have Experience with mechanical knowledge of gas and diesel
Knowledge of forklifts preferred
Basic understanding of internal combustible engines
Knowledge of hydraulic and air brake system
Prefer welding and electrical experience
Prefer experience in maintaining and repairing fleet equipment
Occasional lifting of 40-100 lbs.
Frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, standing and reaching above shoulders
No more than 1 moving violations (i.e. reckless driving, speeding in excess of 15 miles above the posted speed limit) within the past year
No serious motor vehicle violations such as DWI, DUI in the past year
No more than 2 moving violations or serious motor vehicle violations within the past 3 years
Must have own tool set
