Freight Analyst

Factory Motor Parts Company is a National distributor of automotive parts and we are currently staffing for a Freight Analyst which is a newly created position with our company.  This position will be responsible for our 47 distribution centers, our Corporate office in Eagan, MN and for our sister company, Super Clean Brands Inc., manufacturer and distributor of the Splash and Super Clean products. This year is our 61st year in business and we are operating in 17 states today.

 

This position will be responsible for the following:

?  Scheduling and managing inbound and outbound transportation on orders and shipments across all business units with cost efficiency

?  Maintain, develop and administer shipping/transportation policies that will produce on-time delivery, optimum customer service and cost effective utilization of the carrier base

?  Consult with Transportation manager on logistics projects, bids and cost saving programs

?  Assist with carrier selection process, negotiate and maintain transportation metrics setting clear objectives and measures; metrics reporting; implementation of solid process management

?  Facilitate and organize import and export activity as needed

?  Communicate with many departments within the company including facility managers, customer service and sales

?  Daily/weekly/monthly reporting to various levels of management within the company

?  Help to manage the relationships of customers and vendors; develop solutions that leverage the Company?s volumes, system and partnerships while providing high levels of customer service in a cost effective manner

 

The ideal candidate will have strong technical, analytical, verbal, written and organizational skills along with the ability to handle problem resolution and customer service issues.  Previous traffic experience required.  Working knowledge of DOT and regulatory compliance a plus.  The candidate will be able to think quickly, operate independently or as an integral part of a team and be able to thrive in a fast paced, results oriented environment.  Strong systems and technology skills are required to be successful in this position.
