Freight Broker

 

This position requires the ability to locate/secure equipment, move time sensitive dry and refrigerated freight in multiple locations around the United States, negotiate rates paid to the carrier, tender load information and manage both carrier and driver service to achieve the desired result for our customers.

 

Managing all aspects of the freight brokerage process in our fast paced, multi-tasking environment requires candidates to possess a positive attitude and be self motivated and able to self manage.

 

Developing new carrier relationships requires knowledge of all aspects of carrier development including strong negotiating and organizational skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written and excellent telephone skills for cold calling and daily contact with carriers.

 

Developing and maintaining existing customer and carrier relationships requires industry knowledge of carriers, rates, lanes etc. A carrier following is preferred.

 

Updating and managing data on the AS400 and using MS office software requires attention to detail and accuracy.
