Grocery Shipping Superintendent

SuperValu the nation's leader in Grocery Wholesale Distribution is looking for a Grocery Superintendent to join their logistics team at their Mechanicsville facility. 

 

The primary responsibilities for this position are as follows:Supervise and direct the activities of 250 -300 hourly associates and 8 supervisorsDirectly communicate and interact with the Purchasing, Accounting and Transportation departments in matters dealing with grocery shipping Create, install and monitor effective damage and loss control programs Train and develop management skills of supervisory staff Create annual labor and expense budgets Efficiently run the shipping operation.

 

Candidates interested in applying should possess the following qualifications:Bachelor's degree in management or logisticsMinimum of five (5) years distribution experienceTwo (2) to three (3) years of previous supervisory experienceStrong leadership, interpersonal and human relations skillsExcellent communication skills (written and oral)Knowledge of receiving operations and on-line warehouse systemsMust have the ability to work nights, weekends and holidays
