Import/Export Specialist; Nonexempt

This position requires daily data entry, review all import documentation and forms for accuracy, completeness and compliance prior to submission to customs broker.  Review and audit payment of import charges for all vendors.  In addition, may act as back up in processing of vendor payment. 

 

This position may require involvement in meetings with various carriers to discuss any service failures and problems pertaining to cargo movement and compliance.  It may also require involvement to act as liaison for import operations to the sales group, Legal Counsel, Sony Logistics (Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia and etc.).  For example; resolve any system or documentation problems on import shipments, and provide suggestions to enhance the import flow.

 

Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in international import/export field.  Computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Outlook are required.  Logistics knowledge and experience in handling US Customs and other government agencies is preferred.
