Inventory Coordinator

Provides daily support to the VCU Pharmacy Department by processing receiving from prime and secondary vendors and direct and drop ship manufacturers. Reviews all deliveries for accuracy and notifies the buyer and/or inventory manager of all discrepancies. Ensures that all necessary paperwork is initialed and provided to the appropriate team member for payment processing. Proceeds to appropriate areas with daily deliveries and observes expectations regarding patient needs and convenient delivery times.

Specific Duties, Activities, and Responsibilities:
Supports management objectives by complying with policies and procedures, continually striving to meet established turnaround times, and ensuring prompt and courteous service to dispensing area personnel.
Utilizes all Cardinal software tools available to the customer efficiently, such as eReceiver, Mobile Solutions, and Cardinal.com. Assists with training customer representatives on accurate receiving and reporting procedures.
Utilizes customer purchasing and inventory system (ESI) to accurately record daily receiving information.
Records dispensing information for all storeroom items, including PAP drugs, as directed.
Responsible for stocking inventory and assigning bin locations for storeroom items according to management guidelines. Reports bin location updates to inventory manager and/or pharmacy buyer to ensure database is accurately maintained.
Responsible for rotating stock daily or as product is added into inventory and checking product expiration dates monthly to reduce exposure on expired product.
Performs inventory of assigned storeroom items daily and reports to buyer any items that fall close to the set par level to ensure timely replenishment.
Works with inventory manager or buyer to process product returns, manufacturer recalls, or expired products for third party credit.
Works daily to ensure that all storeroom and inventory control tasks are prioritized, coordinated, and accomplished efficiently and accurately.
Assures timely completion of all storeroom quality assurance tasks, such as double-check of drugs pulled for inter-departmental orders, refrigerator and freezer temperature checks, storeroom cleanliness, and storeroom security.

Position Requirements:
Ability to work and communicate effectively with others in a manner that promotes teamwork.
Ability to perform basic math and a willingness to learn simple spreadsheet and/or database maintenance.
Ability to climb storeroom ladders and operate a pallet stacker.
Ability to lift and carry boxes weighing up to 50 pounds.

High school or equivalent; college courses in business or accounting.

Two years in a position of leadership highly desirable. Previous computized purchasing or storeroom experience preferrable.
