 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: This position will be responsible for the selecting, training, rewarding, retaining and managing of employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing operational issues and resolving problems at the service center level. Following established company, D.O.T. and governmental procedures and guidelines; directly supervising inbound, city and outbound freight operations; working in a concerted effort with other supervisors and managers to provide direction, guidance and coaching to team members within a positive work environment; developing and maintaining an efficient and involved work force through performance appraisals, leadership, education, and communication which support diversity and team effectiveness; developing and implementing process improvements to increase efficiency, costs, and productivity; monitoring quality and delivery services which attract and retain customers; using ethical business practices in dealing with customers; employees, vendors, suppliers, and the community.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Must have a minimum of 1 year supervisory experience in the LTL and/or transportation environment. Must be able to work both days and nights. Must have transportation or logistics supervisory experience. Must be a good motivator with excellent interpersonal, verbal and communication skills. Be able to handle a variety of tasks and deadlines simultaneously. Working knowledge of freight movement systems, methodologies and procedures. Familiarity with DOT and Haz-Mat rules and regulations. Working knowledge of basic computer and PC software skills.
