Local Dispatcher - Intermodal container/LTL

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 -Daily interaction with port facilitys and container operations

-Daily interaction with company drivers and owner operators, scheduling pick up and deliveries of marine containers, vans and LTL freight

-Daily interaction with customers to determine trucking requirements 

-Development of daily plan to match drivers to jobs while maximizing equipment utilization and minimizing costs to both company and owner operators

-Daily Interaction with both company drivers and owner operators to confirm jobs and schedules

 

 

Qualifications:

 



  -Prior dispatching experience in a high volume environment

  -Container and LTL dispatching experience

-Working knowledge of Puget Sound area ports

-Strong oral and written communication skills.

-Professional and friendly demeanor

 -Excellent communication skills. 

 -Working knowledge of regional roadways and local geography.

-Working knowledge of LTL pick up procedures.

 -Excellent organizational and detail skills.

 -Excellent driver relation skills

 -Ability to juggle multiple calls and tasks simultaneously. 

 -Ability to communicate, coordinate and problem solve.

-Ability to anticipate and eliminate problems with effective planning.

-Ability to plan and assign pick ups and deliveries to maximize 
  productivity.

 -Ability to handle conflict, and provide productive

  solutions with a variety of people and situations.

-Good sense of humor

 

 

 

-Minimum of two (2) years experience in transportation/dispatch operations.

-Marine container and LTL dispatch experience preferred.
-Experience with MS Office Applications (Word, Excel & Outlook) and  computer literate.
