Locomotive Services Technician, Chicago IL

As a Locomotive Servicing Technician, you'll be responsible for getting our customer's Locomotives ready for cross-country treks.  We perform services such as refilling sand, water & sanitation services and checking oil levels at the Global One railyard located near Western and Ogden. Candidates should have a CDL class B license in good standing and have good mechanical skills. 

 

We are also looking for Assistants who will ride with the Technicians and assist them in servicing the locomotives.  Assistants can be considered for promotion if their performance warrents and they obtain a CDL. This is a great way to gain experience for your driving test! 

 

To qualify, you'll need:CDL Class A or B (for Technicians only)1-2 yrs of driving experience Clean driving record Strong mechanical skills Ability to work without direct supervision Ability to interact directly with the customer in a professional manner Proven ability to make sound independent judgments and decisions Proven leadership ability HS diploma

Technicians typically start off at $12.75/hr while Assistants start off at $11.00.
