Long Haul Truck Driver

Steeler, Inc. is a manufacturer of steel framing and a distributor of drywall and construction supplies.

We are currently looking for an experienced driver to deliver construction materials to our Steeler branches and customers throughout the 11 western states.  The driver must have a Class A CDL and a clean driving record.  The driver can reside in any of the western states.  The driver must be willing to work a minimum of one week to a maximum of two weeks on the road.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

?  Load Securement is to be completed in accordance with Sec. 393.9 of F.M.C.S.R.

?  Drivers will conduct their driving duties in a rational and prudent manner with public safety always as his/her highest priority.

?  Drivers will maintain a single logbook keeping in compliance with all Federal and State regulations.

?  Drivers are personally responsible for the vehicle?s condition and cleanliness. 

?  Drivers will ensure that all defects are reported and repaired before any truck is operated.

?  The driver will clean the truck at least once a week if not more often.

?  Drivers must have a working knowledge of the F.M.C.S.R. as it relates to their driving activity and will adhere to its regulations.

?  Area of Service- 11 Western States

?On the road for a minimum of 1 week and a maximum of 2 weeks.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

 QUALIFICATIONS

Driver must posses the appropriate state certification for the vehicle he/she is operating.

 EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Forklift, flatbed, and tie-down experience required, construction background a plus.

 LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, write, and understand English. Ability to speak effectively with customers or employees of organization.

 MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate simple figures and amounts using addition or subtraction. REASONING ABILITY

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.

 CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must have a valid Class A CDL.
