Maintenance Supervisor

Shoe Carnival, Inc is a publicly traded, leading national retailer of name brand family shoes and accessories with over 260 stores in 23 states ? and growing! Our distribution center is located in Evansville, IN where we are seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee our distribution center maintenance operations. This is an exempt-level position.

Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesSupervises Maintenance Assistants and Leads to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and standards. Performs annual evaluations and issues counselings as necessary. Communicates procedural changes, special instructions, and other pertinent information to Maintenance Leads and Assistants, and ensures proper training. Communicates with vendors regarding purchase of maintenance supplies and coordinates purchases with D.C. Management. Negotiates contracts with vendors. Maintains an accurate parts inventory to ensure that downtime does not result from inadequate inventory. Carries out special assignments as directed by D.C. Management. Proactively identifies and communicates problems/issues with D.C. Management and assists in developing action plans and solutions. Ensures compliance with lockout/tagout procedures and other OSHA regulations as required. Maintains maintenance records for order picker and reach truck fleet. Oversees janitorial services for the facility to ensure that a safe and clean environment is maintained.

Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)High school diploma or equivalent 3-5 years supervisory experience Must be trained and licensed in the operation of a reach truck and order picker Experience with Programmable Logic Controller and working knowledge of electrical concepts
