Maintenance Support - PartsTacoma, WAJOB DESCRIPTION:



GENERAL SCOPE OF JOB:

Physically distribute parts to shop mechanics and drivers.  Issue purchase orders to vendors and outside shops for parts purchases.  Receive parts to inventory from vendors and updating computer system as needed.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Physically distribute parts to mechanics and drivers using information provided by drivers or other employees, entering information into the computer system.

Issue purchase orders for parts and shop supplies for other company locations by phone and use of the computer.

Track inventory, stock shelves, create and place orders for stocked parts and non- stock parts for vehicles in shop facilities.

Repair light cords, shop tools and radios for re-use.

Communicate effectively to drivers and employees.

 

QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge of equipment used in the transportation industry.

Basic knowledge of parts required to repair trucks and trailers.

Basic knowledge of the transportation industry.

Ability to communicate effectively to drivers and employees using above average customer service skills.

Above average organizational skills to effectively handle multiple priorities with short deadlines coordinating pickup and delivery times.

Computer experience helpful.  Keyboarding ability is essential as is the ability to efficiently operate in a computerized environment.
