Manager, Quality Assurance

I.   POSITION SUMMARY

 

The incumbent will lead Quality Improvement Projects directed at core business process areas within the organization.  They will lead Quality Improvement Projects directed at Key Enabling process areas within the organization.  These process areas include (but are not limited to) Warehouse Management Operations, Human Resources, Information Technology and Financial Operations.  They will contribute to the definition, design and improvement of our core business processes and then make these business processes operational within the organization.  The incumbent will be responsible to assist with instilling core Six Sigma skills and awareness across the organization.  Within the scope of this position's responsibilities, the incumbent must continually focus on the improvement of his/her processes in order to ensure the customer's needs are met for high quality, cost effective logistics services while, at the same time, meeting Corporate values and objectives.

 

II. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

1.  Serve as a critical point of escalation of processing quality issues.

2.  Play a key role in process improvement initiative

3.  Conduct analysis of data collected

4.  Assist Operations staff with development and implementation of process improvements

5.  Provide team leadership of multiple quality improvement teams

6.  Identify any deficiencies in processes and assist in developing corrective actions.

7.  Provide Six Sigma Core Skills training to employees

8.  Function as an accessible resource of experience and knowledge.

9.  Monitor and manage daily workflow and workload distribution on improvement projects

10.  Be accountable for turn-around time on tasks assigned to area of responsibility.

11.  Ensure improvement team targets are consistently met or exceeded.

12.  Create Data Collection Plans

13.  Conduct formal data collection

14.  Create Business Performance Score cards

15.  Establish and Report Process Metrics

16.  Develop and Deploy DOE (Design of Experiments)

IV.  MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

 

College degree. Three (3) plus years related work experience;  Five (5) years of supervisor experience in a large customer service/quality assurance environment.  Process mapping experience.  Seven to ten (7-10) years Six Sigma experience with a combination of Project Management and Business Process Analysis skills as well as experience in data analysis and drawing conclusions from data.  Experience is preferred in the following:  Project Management (to include project chartering, project staffing, team leadership, and project status reporting); Quality Process Improvement (Six Sigma Black Belt, establishment of core and key enabling processes at all levels.  Data collection and measurement experience, detailed process identification and mapping experience.  Methodology experience with DMAIC – Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control.  Experience with DFSS – Design for Six Sigma); Experience with Identification and incorporation of customer Critical to Quality (CTQ’s) and Business Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) across business processes. Quality Black Belt Certification required.   Knowledge of system and process management methodologies.  Ability to develop and deploy DOE (Design of Experiments) tools/techniques and ability to calculate Sigma for business processes.  Familiar with Quality Analysis tools/techniques such as Pareto Chart, Run Charts, Scatter Diagrams, Regression Analysis, SIPOC Diagrams.  Familiar with Quality Improvement Team Facilitation tools/techniques such as agenda planning, group facilitation and decision-making, brainstorming, group affinitizing and prioritization.
