Marine Superintendent

C-Port Marine Services LLC is looking for a Marine Superintendent to manage a project to provide daily round trip ferry service between Puget Sound Naval Shipyard Bremerton and Naval Station Everett for up to 350 Navy crew members in support of the USS Abraham Lincoln overhaul.  Project duration is estimated at seven to nine months.  The Marine Superintendent will report to C-Port?s General Manager and will be responsible for all operational and vessel maintenance aspects of the project.

 

Project Description:  This project involves the transportation of Navy personnel from Naval Station Everett to Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Bremerton and return.  We intend to use two to three high speed catamaran fast ferries to accomplish this mission.  This service will be provided 7 days per week for a base period of 6 months.  There is a possible extension of an additional 6 months.

 The Marine Superintendent?s responsibilities will include the following duties:

 a. Act as primary point of contact with the US Navy for all operational and day to day communications.b.  Develop  a project management plan and a final vessel operating schedule; arrange for vessel deployment; calculate and track project costs, develop contingency plans and provide QA audits; provide all operating and training programs and manuals;c. Provide (on an ongoing basis) suitable personnel to fill all vessel crew positions, ensuring personnel hold appropriate USCG licenses and certificates to serve in their assigned positions;d.  Provide comprehensive day-to-day management relating to operation of the Vessels in performance of the MSC Contract, including USCG (and other regulatory agency) compliance and safety management;e. Prepare and provide regular reports for purposes of implementing the approved project management plan and tracking project costs.  f.  Coordinate with the human resources department, and provide standard forms, handbooks, training, orientation, supervision and reporting for all personnel serving aboard the Vessels, provide and maintain a USCG approved drug testing program;g. Supervise and document the day-to-day, routine maintenance and repairs of the Vessels, including selection and procurement of necessary parts;h. Review and approve parts and materials requisitioned, ensure compliance with all purchasing procedures, and maintain regular inventories of all onboard stores and supplies;i. Manage a small snack and beverage service on board the vessels




Education:

Degree from a Maritime University or College in Marine Engineering or other marine related major.  Experience may be substituted for education.

 

Experience:

Minimum 10 years sailing on inspected vessels as Master or Chief preferred.  Experience as a Port Captain, Port Engineer, managing multi vessel fleets and high speed passenger vessel duty is a big plus.

 

License Requirements:

Minimum 1600 Ton Master, Oceans or Chief 4000HP Oceans, preferred
