Opportunity at the Reagan Test Site (RTS) located in the exotic and tropical island of Kwajalein in the Republic of Marshall Islands. Reagan Test Site (RTS) complex includes a variety of radar, telemetry, and other instrumentation and communication systems.

This location is a beautiful, tropical setting in the central Pacific that offers year-round water sports and many other recreational activities. Kwajalein is similar to most American communities with schools, hospital, stores and all public works. Crime is virtually non-existent and so is traffic, private automobiles are not authorized and bicycles are the primary mode of transportation.

Supervisor Weld and Paint Shop- Marine Department
(Full Time/ Accompanied)


Responsibilities:Oversees repairs and maintenance of the hull, piping and paint systems of the US Army vellels assigned to US Army at Kwajalein Atoll (USAKA).  In charge of the maintenance and supply systems for the weld and paint shops.  Develops the hull and paint specifications for each vessel overhaul.  In charge of welding and paint shops and their repair functions.  Prepares the annual performance reviews for the assigned shop personnel.  Provides expert knowledge on engineering issues and establishes standard practice plans for repairs.  Assists the Oil Spill response team "CHARLIE".  May be assigned to vessels as Oiler/Engineer as needed.  Reports directly to the Port Engineer for orders, guidance, training and duties.  Performs assigned systems tasks/efforts to include government directed work schemes under general direction.  Specific Responsibilities include: development of weld and paint sections of the overhaul plans; development of effective preventive maintenance program for shop equipment; ensures every vessel is ready to support assigned missions; will assist in the disciplinary system to include review of warning sheets, investigation of complaints of violations of company and government rules and regulations and make reports to the Port Engineer; coordinate with other departments on maintenance issues and repair requirements; performs general vessel inspections and SeeSOR inspections.  Performs other duties as assigned.


Required Skills: High School Diploma or equivalent plus 10 (ten) years of directly related experience.  Must have completed welding school and must possess welder certificate for Marine Boiler Maker and/or Pipe Fitter.  Desire Bachelor Degree.
