Job Description:

 

The candidate will work on ACH statements, Monitoring TIB's, Processing Continuous bonds, Updating post entry files in the PEAR database, submitting and following up on post entry files and monitoring Customs notices. Excellent way to interface and experience working with "other government agencies" which include Customs & Border Protection, FDA, USDA and F&W. The ideal candidate for this position must have strong MS Office skills including Excel, PowerPoint and Word.  Also required are excellent oral and written communication skills and a proven history of providing exceptional customer service at all levels.  Our work environment is team oriented and very fast paced, therefore a strong candidate must have excellent organizational skills, time management skills in addition to a professional attitude and attire that exemplifies the Expeditors culture. 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

? Review all Powers of Attorney received by the branch for validity

? Perform monthly Internal Assessment

? Monitor Customs rejections

? Ensure that branch employees are kept up to date on Customs and OGA related developments

? Read daily publications including: "International Trade Today", and "Pipelines"

? Meet with Customs on a regular basis to establish relationship and obtain feedback regarding branch standing

? Participate in local brokers' association meetings

? Ensure proper and timely filing of SLIs, protests, petitions and supplemental duty tenders

? Manage and post entry activities from start to finish

? Ensure proper handling/monitoring of all TIB entries

? Prepare and hold training sessions on a regular basis for entry personnel

? Must have a strong understanding of Customs (19 CFR (Parts 1 -199) and the HTSUSA)

Experience:

? College degree or equivalent

? Customs Broker's License

? 5 years experience in U.S. Customs brokerage

? Strong analytical ability

? Strong working knowledge of CFIT and import applications

? Brokerage experience is required
