Position Summary:  Manage terminal operations of passenger or freight motor transportation company.



 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities: 

? Assigning and dispatching drivers onto loads

? Set ETA for drivers

? Monitor and calculate drive logs

? Check on equipment available for better driver productivity

? Monitor and pay excess loading time

? Check in drivers using CRT

? Supervise drivers to discuss productivity, attendance, damage record, and ensure drivers follow company and DOT guidelines

? Handle customer calls concerning status of units

? Maintain records on all dispatch boards and miscellaneous moves

? Coordinate truck repairs with shop work load

? Complete injury and accident reports

? Assign and direct employee job assignments

 

Qualifications:

? High school diploma or equivalent

? 2 to 5 years of supervisory experience in transportation or logistics environment dispatching drivers.

? Valid Driver?s License

? Basic algebra and business math

? Proficient use of computer software

? Good verbal and written communication skills

? Work well under pressure to meet deadlines

? Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

? Flexible to work indoors and outdoors in all types of weather

? Ability to climb onto or under trucks and other heavy equipment

? Stable work history with excellent work ethic

 

**  This position requires weekend work and overtime **
