Pacer Distribution Services has an opening for an experienced Operations Manager at our Lynwood location.  The nature of this job requires an individual who is dedicated, is detail-oriented and understand the business.  The ability to handle responsibility in a fast-paced environment is a necessity.  Because this individual will be involved in implementing policies and procedures, it is essential that the person be a diplomatic, sensitive and an effective communicator.  Pacer offers excellent salary and benefits.

 

 

Essential Job Duties:

 

1. Responsible for overseeing the Warehouse Operations which includes ensuring work is on schedule and accurate. Billing and filing should be kept up-to-date.

 

2. Office responsibilities include managing flow of paperwork, assignment of duties to office staff and follow up to ensure tasks are completed.

 

3. Oversee billing including reviewing existing procedures and implementing new procedures as needed. 

 

4. Prepare daily, weekly or monthly computer generated reports as requested.

 

7. Responsible for processing claims in a timely manner and adhering OS&D procedures.

 

8. Serve as liaison between office and warehouse/dock in order to communicate and solve problems between customer demands and operational constraints.

 

9. Responsible for enforcement of policies and procedures.

 

10. Responsible for the hiring process for administrative and operational staff.

 

11. Other duties assigned by Executive.

 



Job Qualifications

 

1.  Knowledge of the transportation industry and warehouse operations is necessary along with at least five years of experience.

 

2.   At least two years of management experience including managing people and being accountable for a department or unit.

 

3.  Solid communication skills including written and verbal. 

 

4.  Must be computer literate and have basic to intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs such as word and excel.  In addition, working knowledge of an e-mail system is necessary.

 

5.  The ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and recall past information
