Operations Coordinator

Summary Develops and manages master schedules to ensure maximum utilization of resources for the air, ocean, or ground line haul function. Schedules, monitors, and coordinates the flow of shipments within or between service centers and recommends adjustments to capacity limits to assure consistency with master schedule.

Tasks & Accountabilities
Regional position, to sell and manage ACG/GFS customers on network segments with available capacity. Would be considered an expert on the subject of network schedules and capacity management. Would be knowledgeable in aircraft types and limitations. Would need to have past sales experience or an educational background in Sales or Marketing. Would need to be able to travel regularly domestically and Internationally. Will need to be proficient with computer skills and able to make customer presentations. Will need to be able to develop marketing and sales strategies to develop and maintain business. Analyzes and provides operational input to support scheduling and transportation procurement efforts. Develops, analyzes, and distributes air, ocean, or ground schedules; identifies scheduling problems/opportunities, and recommends appropriate actions. Serves as liaison with the field organization on schedule related issues. Publishes and distributes schedules for internal and external use. Analyzes load trends for network operations and recommends capacity changes as necessary. Obtains and reviews purchased transport volumes and recommends service improvements and/or cost reductions through network capacity changes as appropriate. Negotiates with vendors for contracted air, ocean, or ground transportation services. Monitors and analyzes contracted transport operations and recommends operator and capacity changes as appropriate. May provide functional guidance, advice and/or training to less-experienced capacity planning professionals.

Skills & Qualifications
Intermediate-level professional contributor. Typically requires BS/BA in related discipline and 2-5 years experience in related field or MS/MA and generally 1-3 years of experience in related field. Professional certification is required in some areas.
