Representative Operations (Logistics Coordinator)

APL Logistics is one of several business units in the NOL Group, the multi-billion dollar corporation with over 25 years global logistics experience.

We are currently seeking a Logistics Coordinator to provide domestic package truck transportation coordination on-site in Newark, DE. This position will provide daily operational functions in support of our client for flatbed, truckload, intermodal, and less-than-truckload (if applicable) shipments.

I.   POSITION SUMMARY

 

The position is responsible for meeting the customer’s transportation requirements working in a regionally aligned team environment. Duties include processing customer orders, modal analysis, tendering freight to carriers, and day-to-day troubleshooting.  The position involves the following modes of transportation, i.e. flatbed, truckload, intermodal, and less-than-truckload (if applicable).

 

II. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

 Provide expertise to optimize and coordinate multi stop shipments as assigned.Interface with various groups as needed to create or redefine existing processes, including general logistics analysis of freight lanes.Engage in modal selection from flatbed, truckload, and intermodal transportation.Considerable dialogue with many organizations within and outside customer (vendors, carriers), including participation meetings.Self managed, excellent decision making and problem solving abilities.Other duties as assigned

I.   MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

 

1)  Prefer a minimum of a AA Degree

 

2)  2+ years transportation/logistics experience, preferably in operations or a call center environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

 

3)  PC proficiency

4)  Working knowledge of shipping modes, including Flatbed, TL, Intermodal, Consolidations.

5)  Working knowledge of Supply Chain Management

6)  High level of attention to detail
