Road Call Coordinator

 

GENERAL SCOPE OF JOB:

To coordinate repair of any type of company trucking related equipment being serviced or repaired at an outside non-company facility.

 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Diagnose equipment failure problems quickly, using information provided by drivers or other employees, forwarding information to equipment operators and repair vendors.

 

Coordinate arrangements for equipment repair by telephone or by the use of Qualcomm computer system to the driver and designated vendor while simultaneously keying data into the company computer system.

 

Coordinate equipment recovery in cases of accidents with employees, recovery vendors, and local law enforcement agencies.

 

Use wide-ranging knowledge of nationwide geographic locations with the ability to effectively communicate directions to drivers or vendors as needed.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

One year previous heavy truck mechanical experience with the following systems; Cummins, Detroit and Cat engine systems, Eaton and Fuller or Meritor Transmissions, Freightliner, Peterbilt, Volvo and Navistar electrical systems, Bendix Sealco air systems.

 

Certificate of completion from a licensed trade school.

 

One year previous management experience required.

 

Possess extensive wide-ranging knowledge of nationwide geographic locations with the ability to effectively communicate directions to drivers or vendors as needed.

 

Extensive knowledge of equipment used in the transportation industry specifically the equipment and systems mentioned above.

 

Exhibit strong computer experience: keyboarding ability is essential, as is the ability to efficiently operate in a computerized environment.

 

Possess and demonstrate good communication and organization skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities with time sensitive deadlines in a high stress environment.

 

Strong analytical and problem solving ability.
