Senior Manager Order Fulfillment Manager

The Fulfillment Planning Manager position will lead the Wave Planning and Order Fulfillment teams.  This position will have several direct reports.  Those reports will be the Order Fulfillment Supervisors and Wave Planning positions.  This position is responsible for working with several different departments in communicating and planning for all workflow in the distribution center.  It is also responsible for communicating project status via MS Project along with any issues that may be impeding successful schedule attainment.

 

Summary of Responsibilities:
1. Work with Fulfillment Manager to execute on workload forecasts developed by Wave Planners
2. Develop strategy to meet long-term and short-term staffing requirements with trained personnel
3. Roll out labor standards developed by Wave Planners to Order Fulfillment team
4. Implement standard procedures across distribution center functional groups
5. Develop close working relationships between Fulfillment team and CAP
6. Limited amounts of WMS configuration and troubleshooting
7. Train Wave Planners on order handling, WMS configuration, troubleshooting, and workload forecasts
8. Develop technical competence in all Order Fulfillment Managers and Supervisors
9. Lead Maintenance Technician in use of new part tracking software
10. Standardize procedures for communicating information between CAP and the Order Fulfillment Teams
11. Lead DC project teams in any WMS modifications or upgrades
12. Manage the configuration of the Warehouse Management System (Click Commerce ? Move 6.2.0.0).  Working knowledge of Move system is required to know how to configure system to accommodate changes in process.  This includes the add/edit/delete of locations, areas, and equipment.  Must be able to learn how to troubleshoot communication failures with Siemens-Dematic RapidRoute Conveyor System and PeopleSoft ERP System.  Must be able to troubleshoot issues with manifest closeout and orders ready for invoice.  Must be able to answer questions concerning the capabilities and limitations of the Move system.
13. Manage the configuration of the Manifesting System (Click Commerce ? Webship 4.3).  Working knowledge of the Webship system is required to know how to configure carrier and print device setup.  Must be able to learn how to troubleshoot manifest errors caused by bad or missing address information.
14. Manage the efforts of the Distribution Center Planning Analysts.  The DC Analysts are responsible for proactively meeting with Contract Program Managers to plan for the distribution requirements of respective state contracts.  Additionally, the DC Analysts are responsible for forecasting staffing needs for the proper execution of the state and catalog businesses in order to meet on time delivery via lowest cost shipping method. 
15. Manage the efforts of the Order Fulfillment Operations Supervisors.  The OF Supervisors are responsible for the execution of the picking and packing of the state contract and catalog orders. 
16. Maintain issues log pertaining to the state contract business in order to reduce and eliminate system and human errors.
17. Establish shift schedules that minimize overtime and provide needed fulfillment coverage needed to meet delivery dates. 

 

Experience required:
1. Intermediate ability in MS Access, Word, Excel, and MS Project

Experience preferred:
1. Prior experience developing labor standards
2. Prior WMS experience
3. Experience with capacity analysis and line balancing
4. Prior simulation software experience
Education required:
1. 4-year bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or business administration
