Hudd Distribution is a subsidiary of Maersk, the world?s largest provider of containerized transportation solutions. Right now, we have an opportunity available for a self-motivated Shift Supervisor to coordinate the logistics process of freight movement at our warehouse/distribution facility in South Gate, CA.
You will be responsible for the shipping, receiving, GOH, repack and storage functions of the warehouse; inbound cargo processing; and employee supervision. This will include verifying cargo accuracy, documenting OS&D, working with Customer Service to resolve issues, determining work procedures & schedules, and expediting workflow. You?ll also be expected to train, develop, and assess the performance of the employees on your team.
To qualify, you must have a minimum of 2 years of related warehouse/terminal experience, at least 1-2 years of supervisory background in a automated sortation environment, WMS experience, and at least 6 months? 3PL experience with a preference in cross dock. Candidates must be proficient in MS Word & Excel; and have excellent organizational, flow-through, team-building, interpersonal and communication skills. Bilingual ability (English/Spanish) is helpful. The ability to work nights, weekends and holidays is required.
