Shipping Coordinator - Non-Exempt

Specialty Chemicals is the world leader in production of activated carbon used in emission control systems for automobiles and trucks. The division is also a global leader in the production of emulsifiers used in asphalt paving. Other products are used in printing inks, dyestuffs, agrichemicals, rubber, protective coatings, oil drilling, paper manufacturing, cement, pollution control and many other applications.

Currently we have an immediate need for a Shipping Coordinator in our Covington, VA plant.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Shipping Coordinator will coordinate activities necessary to fulfill customer orders, from identifying material through closing out of shipments.  Essential responsibilities include:
? Timely and accurate handling of shipments: prioritize loads, generate picklists, close shipments. 
? Rapidly resolve problems with shipments. 
? Handle internal movements of material within Warehouse Management (WM) module, including rescreen material receipt. 
? Material Master Data Support.
? Goods Receipts (e.g. ACS Sheets).
? Ensure sufficient stock of necessary supplies, both shipping and office.
? Work with QC group and Operations Systems Manager to ensure flow of off-spec material to rework.
? Address customer requests and complaints rapidly. 
? Provide call coverage and support other plants as needed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
? In-depth knowledge of the warehouse management and shipping processes.
? 2 years experience in a fast-paced production environment a plus.
? Knowledge of SAP, Excel, Lotus Notes and general software packages.
? Must be highly motivated, able to multi-task and be detail oriented.
? Ability to work weekends and be on-call when needed.
