Sr. Manager, Hub MHE & Auto Sort

Summary Develops objectives and policies for the maintenance technician staff assigned to the automated sorting system. Inerprets technical specifications of the systems and creates / enhances job aides used by the technician staff. Assesses technician competencies and skill levels required to maintain and support the MHE and auto sort system. Creates and directs preventative maintenance scheduling, operational support, and response to irregularities. Evaluates auto sort system performance, trends problems, recommends and initiate improvement processes. Develops cost models associated with repairs and modifications. Insures system reliability and on-time performance standards are met.

Tasks & Accountabilities
Establishes routines and strategies that assure performance and reliability levels of the MHE and auto sort system are effective and sustained. Serves as consultant and subject matter expert / advisor to senior executives and staff. Must work in concert with supporting vendors including managing performance and relationships. Will recommend and implement measurements to evaluate proficiency and effectiveness of staff. Will plan staffing schedule to properly cover operating shifts and preventative maintenance and repair requirements. Establishes an operating budget including salaries, parts inventories, vendor services, and related activities such as training. Responsible for hiring, coaching, training, development, and evaluation of supporting staff. Creates work programs and assignments for staff; evaluates effectiveness of programs and manages performance in accordance with organizational policies, procedures, and performance management processes.

Skills & Qualifications
Has extensive depth and knowledge in automated sorting systems. Is a skilled manager and can demonstrate effective communication techniques with senior executives, intra-company departments, vendors, and reporting staff members. Can demonstrate employee development competencies. Viewed as an expert in functional area of MHE and auto sort maintenance. Previous auto sort experience is mandatory either as a provider, inegrator, OEM, or customer. Is familiar with Maximo or comparable CMMS. BS/BA and related professional certifications that may apply, and 8-10 years experience in related field. At least 5 years management experience in MHE and automated sorting systems.
