Resource for maintaining cost effective supply of materials to facilities, implementing assigned Meal Prep/Meat new products/projects, implementing Enterprise Procurement sourcing changes, identifying and implementing cost, supplier development, process and working capital improvements for assigned purchases within the Meal Prep and Meat Group.Assures supply of ingredients and packaging with facility materials managers by determining the quantity and quality based on production needs, obtains material quotes for new/modified materials, interfaces with inventory control and production management, arranges for deliveries as needed to ensure a smooth flow of materials consistent with quality considerations.
Assures effective implementation of Marketing, R&D, Operations and EP projects as they relate materials for assigned facilities and indirect materials (all facilities). Provides Marketing, Operations and R&D with alternative material costs and specifications. Captures current business requirements in support of Central Buying Group sourcing strategies.
Identifies and implements opportunities to reduce working capital intensity associated with material inventories. Monitors inventory levels versus present business conditions to fulfill the ingredient/packaging needs of the production facilities assigned. Minimizes potential inventory liabilities by analyzing contract balances, plant and supplier inventories and changes in manufacturing needs. Transfers or returns to suppliers obsolete or excess ingredients to lessen exposure.
Monitors vendor quality and service performance with facilities. Champions corrective actions and quality improvement initiatives with facilities, quality assurance, R&D and vendors.
Identifies and champions cost reduction initiatives, continuous improvement audits, tracks implementation of projects.
Implements process improvement/harmonization projects.BS in Business, Supply Chain, Packaging
3-5 years experience in Procurement or Supply Chain
Project management experience in a Corporate environment.
MRP experience
Ability to leverage computer software
