TITLE: Store Manager, Retail

FUNCTION: Retail Sales

JOB LOCATIONS: Gilroy, CA

JOB DESCRIPTION

Provide consistent leadership to ensure all sales and profitability objectives are met or exceeded. Foster a high-energy, food-focused culture. Represent the Calphalon brand with the highest integrity. Effectively manage store operations to ensure inventory levels are maintained and visual merchandising standards are followed. Coach and develop Calphalon brand associates. Ensure customers receive world class service. Accountable for all aspects of the store.

RECIPE FOR SUCCESS:

1. Results Orientation

Analyzes business goals and objectives, creating, monitoring and adjusting action plans to ensure all goals are met and/or exceeded.

Reviews and monitors budgets to ensure all bottom line goals are met.

Creates and maintains a strong selling culture, assigning and monitoring individual statistical goals, providing feedback, assistance and redirection.

2. Customer Focus

Leads by example, ensuring every customer receives a positive Calphalon brand experience

Motivates and inspires team to anticipate and exceed clients' all service needs.

Develops relationships with the mall manager and local community to grow business through networking and events.

3. Visual Perfectionism

Ensures store compliance with visual merchandising standards.

Ensures store layout of fixtures, merchandise and displays are neat and orderly, taking into account store safety and security measure.

Inspects merchandise to ensure it is correctly priced and displayed.

4. Committed to Coaching and Development

Maintains pipeline of qualified candidates to ensure continuous smooth operation of store.

Conducts weekly one-on-ones with team to evaluate performance and development needs.

Writes performance appraisals and conducts all review processes.

Prepares and monitors store succession plan with Area Manager on an on-going basis.

Ensures all team members receive appropriate product, POS, safety & compliance training.

5. Outstanding Operations Skills

Ensures all operational processes are adhered to including shipment/receiving, store maintenance, deliveries and inventory management.

Effectively manages employee scheduling, ensuring payroll objectives are met.

Perform reporting and reconciliations functions outlined in operations manual.

Regularly walks floor to ensure operational and visual standards are met.

Job Requirements:

CRITICAL INGREDIENTS:

5 + years retail store management experience.

Consistent record of exceeding sales and profitability goals.

Effectively identifies, attracts, develops and retains the right people.

Proven ability to identify top talent, create teams, and train/develop/retain great people. Has managed a commission/incentive-based environment.

Ability to effectively manage multiple projects at the same time.

Ability to effectively motivate and influence others.

Ability to achieve results both independently and through others by fostering a spirit of teamwork and cooperation.

SOME STAPLE SKILLS:

Ability to work on the sales floor for extended periods of time.

Ability to work a flexible schedule.

Ability to safely lift/move medium to large items (up to 50 lbs.)

EDUCATION: 4 year college is required
