TL Transportation Analyst


This position sources carriers and negotiates the best possible rates with truckload (both van and flatbed) carriers, dedicated fleets, and intermodal providers, including meeting with carriers as needed and communicating with them via telephone, e-mail, and/or fax to discuss service, rate, or capacity opportunities.

This position inputs carrier rates in Manugistics and audits rates as needed.

This position reviews dedicated fleet operations to ensure that cost and service goals are being achieved and administers bids as needed.

This position negotiates and maintains contracts with our carriers and ensures that adequate insurance coverage and safety ratings are maintained.

This position also provides support to other areas, including but not limited to: DC cost studies, spreadsheet analysis, and related tasks as assigned.

Principal Accountabilities:
- Accurate and timely rate entry into Manugistics
- Contract maintenance for truckload and intermodal carriers.
- Ensures adequate carrier capacity to support the organization?s service and pricing needs.


Position Requirements Computer: familiarity with a wide range of programs, including but not limited to: Manugistics, Word-processing (MS Word), Spreadsheet (MS Excel), Database (MS Access), E-Mail and Scheduling (MS Outlook)

Education: 4-year Bachelors degree in Logistics or Transportation preferred, as well as at least 3 years of related professional experience.
