 About the Position 

Title:  Traffic Manager

Reports to:  Director of Production Control

Location: Wilmington, NC

Work Eligibility:  Must be authorized to work in the United States

Position Description



 

This position is responsible for the service, documentation, and other administrative responsibilities for Terex shipments destined to and from international and North American customers. 

 Minimum Required Qualifications

 

Level of education required:  Undergraduate degree preferred

 

Experience Level: 5-7 years experience in the area of freight management, including 3 years experience in global transportation and at least 1 year in the management of a traffic department

 

Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Must effectively and professionally communicate with individuals of diverse backgrounds and responsibility.Strong orientation toward quality, safety, and continuous improvement.Developed organizational skills and attention to detail.Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of products including Access.Proven work ethic and willingness to assume other professional development opportunities as assigned.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

?  Quote Freight rate charges on individual parts orders and complete cranes for both domestic and international internal and external customers

?  Calculate and acquire weights and dims per package,

?  Identify new carriers, obtain quotes and negotiate rates for both inbound and outbound freight

?  Schedule inbound and outbound freight

?  Quote, schedule and follow up on emergency same day and special service orders

?  Prepare all documents needed, including bills of lading, commercial invoices (harmonized codes), shippers export declarations

?  Stay in contact with customers forwarder/brokers on international shipments, both inbound and outbound, especially Letter of Credit orders

?  Clear daily shipments, insuring freight charges are invoiced at the same times are parts

?  Receive daily manifests from carriers and enter on sales and shipment before invoicing

?  Work closely with Packers (S&R) to coordinate large shipments being export packed to customers as well as TEREX shipments as well as the delivery of container items unloaded at customer location that are incoming from our suppliers

?  Schedule trucks to pick up material from Wilmington and deliver S&R

?  Collect packaging lists from S&R once material is packed and forward to customer and forwarders

?  Arrange loading of containers/trucks from S&R

Ability to work in an office environment with some exposure to a manufacturing facility.Environmental Working ConditionsEmployee will be exposed to some or all of the following working conditions:  inside, outside, heat and cold, noise and atmospheric conditions.
