Truck Driver - Entry Level

Job Description

Major Responsibilities:

Safely operate haul trucks in a variety of weather conditions to transport mined material. Inspect all equipment to maximize equipment and tire life. Work with minimum supervision and demonstrate good collaboration skills with co-workers. Must maintain regular and reliable attendance. Must maintain vigilance while operating equipment to ensure the safety of people and equipment in the area. Must understand and execute assignments from a computerized dispatch system and/or a two-way radio. Must work rotating shifts and weekends. Must be available to work overtime as required.

Minimum Requirements:

-Ability to understand and apply instructions from operators manual, co-workers and management.
-Ability to receive, understand and execute assignments from Dispatch System.
-Must pass eye examination for binocular depth perception, given on annual and /or as-needed basis.
-Good demonstrated communication skills and interpersonal skills.
-Excellent safety and attendance record.
-Must successfully complete required training.
-Other duties as assigned.
-Work overtime as required
-Lift upto 50 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications
:
- One year experience operating two ton or larger trucks or heavy equipment.
- One year of cumulative work experience

-Walk on uneven and rocky ground
-Climb ladders
-Ability to sit for long periods of time
-Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment.
-Ability to maintain effectiveness during long and frequently monotonous work shifts
