WAREHOUSE/MATERIALS MANAGER

We are currently seeking a Warehouse/Materials Manager for our Bedford Park, IL facility, located minutes south of Midway Airport. Working under general supervision from the Materials Director, the Warehouse/Materials Manager will supervise the Materials area and/or the inventory in the production area and the Material personnel within.


LOCATION: Manufacturing, Materials/Planning, or Packaging Warehouse.

Minimum Knowledge Requested/Qualifications:

 Knowledge and experience typically gained through a Bachelor?s degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of

  five years experience supervising subordinates.

 Familiarity with WMS/ERP manufacturing.

 Demonstrated team oriented behavior.

 Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

 Willingness to take ownership and accept responsibility for actions and decisions.

 Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.

 Ability to work with cross functional team members cooperatively in the resolution of problems.

 Ability to diagnose problems and recommend solutions in the area of responsibility.

 Supervisory experience preferred.

 Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

 Familiarity with Lean manufacturing techniques.

 

Specific to function:

 Requires working knowledge of technology and methods applicable to the area and the ability to determine

  appropriate application.  Technology and methods include HAACP & AIB filling of Silos using unload systems,

  inspection of packaging final product.

 Current schedule is 7:00 am ? 4:30 pm Monday through Friday, with potential to change to 7:00 am ? 7:00 pm. 

  Willingness to work 12-hour days, 3 days one week, 4 the next, including every other weekend.  Repeating every

  two weeks.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Oversees and coordinates the work flow of Materials area in a continuous operations setting

 Participates in development of plans to achieve the goals of the Materials area that support overall business

  objectives.

 Ensures schedules are met through appropriate use of human and technology resources, scheduling and effective

  problem solving.

 Works with internal resources to resolve problems.  Represents material area on projects within the operations

  group.

 Provides input regarding organizational changes within the material area as requested. 

 Oversees the training of the material area in line with the quality system.

 Develops departmental procedures as required.

 Ensures equipment is operated in a safe and efficient manner.

 Gathers and organizes data on progress towards lean manufacturing goals.

 Performs other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

Strong Manufacturing/Distribution experience with a proven track record of Project Management; a Bachelor?s Degree; and 5-8 years experience in supervising multiple shifts.
