Warehouse Foreman

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:  Responsible for the daily management of all staff and workflow. Must obtain absolute adherence to all company policies/  procedures, while managing the department?s operational plan.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Achieves performance goals and objectivesHolds shift kick-off meetings.Organizes team meetings and executive overviewsManages adherence to daily forklift inspection sheets and associated research for damage.Manages daily workflow and makes necessary adjustments to achieve shift goals.Holds employee monthly meetings.Executes the correct use of all technical equipment including the RF system, computers, scanners, and battery changing equipment.Holds employees to the highest standards of safety, quality, teamwork, reliability, and cleanliness.Uses available tools to evaluate employees and initiate improvement activities thru Shift Managers.Responsible for adherence of established goals, objectives, projects and budget.Responsible for managing facility activities.Manages dock operational plans.Executes all reports or shift requirements on a timely basis.Responsible for writing Employee Performance Reviews within established guidelines.Manages employee attendance and blackout schedule.Administers employee disciplinary actions to support established policies/procedures. Assist in coverage plans for employee and management vacations, etc.Manages Quality Control Department

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two year college or technical school; or 2 to 5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Must have experience in managing a multiple shift operation along with more than ten (10) employees. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Budget experience a plus.Job could require rotating between days and nights.Project management experience a plus.Must have excellent skills in Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, and Word.Self-directed team concepts, improvement activity training, and managing a 7/24 operation a plus.Employee development training, and review writing a plus.Must be able to communicate and manage fairly.Must be able to prepare presentations.Must be able to develop and implement a departmental improvement plan.Must be able to make hard business decisions.
