Warehouse Inventory Manager

Position Summary:

Warehouse Inventory Manager is responsible for all aspects of Glen Ivy?s corporate

warehouse including receiving, ordering, management of inventory, distribution,

professional supplies,  internet sales fulfillment and quality control within the established

corporate plan while meeting if not exceeding warehouse operations financial goals &

objectives. Forecasting, scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; insure

appropriate stocking levels, initiating corrective actions while maintaining superior

internal and external guest relations.

 

Position Qualification Requirements:

 

License(s): Forklift Certified preferred, Valid Calif. Driver?s License,    

 

Education/Training: College degree in related discipline, knowledge of inventory software programs, Microsoft Office- proficient in Excel, APIC?s certified in Inventory mgmt a plus.

 

Experience:  5-7 years of inventory mgmt. experience with at least 5 years in a leadership role.  Experience with replenishment, allocation, warehouse safety including understanding of OSHA requirements. Bilingual a plus but not required.  Proven experience of meeting goal within budget. A minimum of 3 years in shipping and receiving and/or distribution.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and update as needed inventory management/control guidelines, and SOP?s for all warehouse, distribution and fulfillment procedures to ensure accuracy, consistent quality and operating efficiency. Create and manage rolling inventory forecasts while maintaining appropriate levels of inventory to sufficiently meet consumer demand and fill goals. Plans the flow of products through the department and develops the physical layout of products and stock to maximize the efficiencies for order processing, locating and counting inventory, and supporting in-house needs, work orders and rotation. Responsible for inventory reporting, reconciliations, and cycle counts to Director on a weekly basis. Develop methods and systems for tracking internet performance and supply needs and fulfillment. Allocate/transferring inventory to other locations to optimize profitability. Monitor and track movement of merchandise, price changes and sales data as well as warehouse and buyer issues as they arise. Maintains product database ensuring accurate cost and margin information. Responsible for coordinating with the spa managers/supervisors so their inventory levels meet required All shipping and receiving while maintaining the best negotiated rates with shippers. Identify and assist loss prevention on various issues including but not limited to questionable inventory adjustment requests, etc. Ensure that promotional, seasonal merchandise and products are appropriately supported with merchandise. Approve/deny/track carton shortages clamed at the location level. With the assistance of Spa Dir. setting and maintaining inventory control levels. Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement the corresponding solutions. Work closely with the Accounting team and purchasing agent for month end and annual inventory reporting. Continually monitor and communicate inventory for seasonal/promotional/special project activities Responsible for ensuring fill-rates are maintained to company standards while maintaining inventory levels based of company needs and goals. Established/adjusts procedures and staffing to meet order and fulfillment needs. Negotiate cost savings on product purchases. Ensure appropriate distribution channels are utilized to gain the most cost effective method of product replenishment to all locations. Conducts physical inventories as needed and manages weekly/monthly cycle count process. Manage return product processing, tracking and reporting. Prepare departmental budget and pre and post seasonal analysis of vendor and item performance. Maintain physical condition of the warehouse and all equipment with proper training programs in place. Ability to communicate with other department managers and supervisors, understand fulfillment requirements, and define the master inventory. Establish inventories and reorder lead times-set reorder points to preclude inventory outages. Establish a secured storage area and controlled item inventory for high value stock age/storage. Ability to leverage order/reorder quantities with Vendors to maximize price breaks to the organization.

 

Additional Responsibilities:Interviewing, hiring, scheduling, employee recognition, employee counseling, terminations. (with Director and HR Manager), performance reviews, monitoring compensation rates. Work closely with key vendors as well as report on progress and key issues to your direct report. Develop partnerships with vendors keeping them informed of inventory position and projections while notifying purchasing and buyer of vendor performance. Participate in new product discussion with Director and Buyer. Responsible for the security of the products and warehouse. Develop and promote good housekeeping and safety leadership. Maintain active safety program through education and continual training. Member of the safety committee. Serve on cross functional teams for problem solving and continuous improvement purposes. Special projects and other duties as assigned.
