Veterinary Assistant

Job Purpose:

Supports animal care by determining animal requirements; feeding and caring for animals; maintaining cleanliness of hospital; maintaining supplies and equipment.



Duties:


* Maintains safe, secure, healthy and humane environment by sanitizing and disinfecting holding and support areas; following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.


* Maintains animals by feeding and watering animals; cleaning animals' rooms, cages, and equipment; changing cages; administering medications; collecting samples.


* Maintains animal records by documenting animal conditions, reactions, and changes.


* Maintains equipment supplies, surgical supplies and linens.


* Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; verifying receipt.


* Assisting all other members of the hospital to ensure an even flow throughout each day.


* Maintians a clean and comfortable environment for clients, pets and co-workers.

 

* Assist clients whenever necessary.

 

Skills/Qualifications:
