Solid Waste Program Supervisor

Advanced level professional, supervisory work directing the monitoring, reporting, and compliance activities for the Utilities Solid Waste Division with respect to environmental programs including applicable regulations and permits as well as County policies.

 

Minimum Qualifications:  Bachelor?s Degree with major course work in environmental management, physical, natural or biological science, public or business administration or a related field and 3 years of progressively responsible work experience in landfill management, solid and/or hazardous waste programs or related environmental field; and 2 years of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.  Advanced degrees in a related field may be substituted for up to 2 years of required work experience.  Possession and maintenance of a valid Florida Driver?s License.

 

Special Requirement:  Candidate must possess or have the ability to successfully obtain a SWANA Manager of Landfill Operations certification before the end of the first year of employment.

 

Highly Desirable:  Possession or have the ability to successfully obtain an OSHA Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Responder certification.
